2018 Medical Mission: El Salvador
Child held by her mother as their family waits for medical care from NAI’s treatment table in El Salvador 2018
Without missing a beat, a few of our faithful NAI volunteers (Lisa, Marcela, Regino and Ana) in partnership with local church volunteers from Cristo Vivé (led by Pastor Raul Dominguez) proceeded to provide medical care to the residents of the municipality of Comasagua, El Salvador a day after a successful medical mission in Santa Ana.
Comasagua is a remote town located in the mountainous municipality of La Libertad. The residents were victims of a landslide from the 2001 El Salvador earthquake that wiped out the only road leading to the area, restricting the residents’ access to other relief efforts. Residents of the area are still rebuilding their lives from the calamity. Among many of the residents’ outcry was lack of food and clean water, poor housing conditions, and little to no access to health care.
Displaying our love to the poor and sick, NAI provided needed medical care to 250 residents of Comasagua, including giving them non-perishable goods, hot lunch, hygiene kits and most importantly, spiritual care.
We had an amazing day delivered by our selfless volunteers, donors, and our faith. We thank you for supporting us and will continue to strive for success in giving to those in need around the world!
